	The enneagram is a model meaning literally in Greek nine (ennea) and something drawn or written (gram). It is a dynamic circle which describes the nine personality types and their mutual interactions. Each type has its own strategy leading to success, but also brings limitations with it; nine patterns of thinking, feeling and acting. It is a living model, because in the nine-pointed star, the points 3 - 9 - 6 - 3 are linked to each other by arrows in an equilateral triangle. The remaining points, 1 - 4 - 2 - 8 - 5 - 7 - 1 form with the arrows a hexagon.Â Nowadays the enneagram is proving its value is such fields as psychology, business, relationships and upbringing. When someone becomes acquainted with the nine basic personalities he will initially find something of himself in every number. The nine types can be conceived as nine lamps. All the lamps are lit but one burns the brightest. That is the basic type.Â Every person is driven by a certain core motivation. There are nine main groups of these, which form at the same time the nine basic types of which the enneagram is built up. 1Â Â The Perfectionist wants to be good and improve things 2Â The Helper wants to love or be loved 3Â The Performer wants to feel valued and accepted 4Â The Individualist wants to understand who he is and express himself 5Â The Observer wants to understand the world around him and be competent 6Â The Loyalist wants certainty and safety 7Â The Optimist wants to be glad, happy and satisfied 8Â The Leader wants to protect himself by being strong and full of self-confidence 9Â The Mediator wants to live in unity and harmony with others.
